reframing youth care

designing for future generations

How can we redesign child care?

Garage 2020 develops alternatives for child and youth care, with a user-centred approach. It is their overall ambition to make child and youth care unnecessary. The last couple of years multiple ‘Garages’ were opened in different cities throughout the Netherlands: Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Leiden, Twente and Friesland. Reframing Studio has been playing an active role in the Garage 2020 of Rotterdam.

Within the Garage 2020 of Rotterdam a multidisciplinary team of experts from the domain of youth-care, the local government of Rotterdam, philosophers and designers bundle their forces in search for new youth-care ideas and concepts. The ‘Reframers’ were responsible for both facilitating the design-process and designing concepts and prototypes. This, in close collaboration with our friends of Afdeling Buitengewone Zaken
