The United Cities Internship Program is a program for Young professionals, recruited from around the world, who spend one year together in Norway while working hands-on with sustainable development. During the first month of the internship program, an introductory module was organized. This introduction forms the foundation of the interns’ knowledge and skills, benefiting them when working on casework throughout the internship.
Duration
3 days
Group size
12 participants
Participants collect context factors for their chosen design domain:
'The relationship of Norwegian people with seafood in 2050'.
The United Cities program invited The Reframing Academy to be part of the introduction program. To introduce the Young professionals to the Reframing method and inspire them to approach complex design challenges with a Reframing mindset.
The 2,5-day program consisted of a series of reframing lectures that guided the participants through all the steps of the Reframing process. Starting from exploring how to formulate a good design question all the way to idea generation.
After each lecture, the participants worked in groups on their own fictitious design challenge in the domain of sustainability. This way the explanation of the reframing method was immediately put into practice each time.
Throughout the program, we constantly reflected on the applicability of the Reframing steps for the participants, when carrying out future projects.
